UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors are worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is essential to be able to match the dimensions of the old handles when replacing them.
The top screw's location as well as the lever and keyhole sizes are the three measurements you have to determine. Refer to the size guide for assistance with this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be installed on doors that are new or replacement. This type door handle is available in a variety of styles & finishes. This handle is available from several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of tough materials and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and work off the same spindle and screw fixings. They can be easily incorporated into new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The spring lever design allows the handle to be set and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200 000 cycles. This ensures that the quality of finish and performance is maintained over time. The lever that is sprung can be cut to fit more locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back in the door. A lever that is shorter can be used for doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles commonly found on doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and finishes.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes, including White Chrome, and Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for the intended use.
All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on a uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres permit a larger handle, which is usually an advantage when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles that slide out of the horizontal position when not in use.
It is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement can also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centre'. It is important to match the correct handles.

Once you have the correct PZ size you will then need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. These are usually round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads we offer are spring-loaded. This means they will return to a horizontal position when not in use, rather than hanging and possibly securing to the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from getting into a house. Also, the majority of the UPVC handle lever pad style handles are hand-operated, allowing you to install them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. The cylinder lock is operated with a key that unlocks the cylinder case. This exposes pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock, allowing them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with internal and external doors typically having different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder you choose is vital. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. For instance, doors that are external require an extra secure cylinder, while doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. In addition, some cylinders come with additional features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the other end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable measure it using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks, such as lock snapping, so it is essential that it's not too long.
Most modern cylinders are constructed with bump and anti-drill features included in their design. These are designed to reduce attacks by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to deflect the attack and protect your doors.
Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a more frequent type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is smashed using a special tool to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is much quicker and easier to achieve than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves no evidence of a break-in which could hinder an insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is found in the base plate of the door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to bring your multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. The handles had no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple feature is one of the best methods to correct this issue and is a great way to prevent your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as they are not always easy to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes have been specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a custom hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes within the backplate of the door handle for numerous brands of uPVC doors. They have a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
These spring cassettes offer a great value solution to the problem of door handles that have become sagging. These spring cassettes are simple to install and will extend the life of your uPVC door.
